Galeon 640 Fly Guide: The Ultimate Luxury Charter Choice

Revolutionizing the Mid-Size Luxury Yacht Experience

In the world of luxury yachting, few vessels have managed to disrupt the industry quite like the Galeon 640 Fly. Often referred to as a masterpiece of engineering, this yacht bridges the gap between mid-range maneuverability and superyacht-level amenities. For those looking to browse available yacht charters, the Galeon 640 represents the pinnacle of innovation and social design.

At YATR, we pride ourselves on connecting enthusiasts with the finest vessels on the water. In this comprehensive guide, we dive deep into why the Galeon 640 Fly remains one of the most sought-after yachts for charter guests and owners alike.

The Iconic 'Beach Mode' and Fold-Out Balconies

The most talked-about feature of the Galeon 640 Fly is undoubtedly its revolutionary 'Beach Mode.' While many yachts feel confined to their hull's width, the 640 Fly utilizes hydraulic fold-out balconies on both the port and starboard sides. When extended, these balconies increase the cockpit's beam to an incredible 23 feet, creating a massive platform for socializing right above the water's surface.

• Port Side Bar: The port side balcony integrates seamlessly with the galley, featuring a breakfast bar with stools that allow you to sip a cocktail while overlooking the ocean.
• Starboard Lounge: The starboard side offers additional lounging space, perfect for easy access to the water for swimming or paddleboarding.

This design makes the Galeon 640 feel significantly larger than its 64-foot length suggests, rivaling the deck space of 80-foot competitors.

Layout and Exterior Innovation

Galeon didn't stop at the balconies. The 640 Fly introduced a "walk-through" bow design that is truly transformative. Instead of shimmying along narrow side decks, guests can access the forward seating area directly from the flybridge via a dedicated staircase or through a revolutionary electric windshield that opens at the touch of a button.

The Flybridge: A Social Hub

The flybridge on the 640 Fly is expansive. It features a fully equipped wet bar, a massive dining table, and adjustable sunpads. Whether you are cruising the Mediterranean or the Caribbean, the flybridge provides the best vantage point for panoramic views. If you are interested in vessels with similar expansive bridge decks, consider exploring the Princess Yachts collection for comparable luxury.

Interior Luxury and Accommodations

Inside, the Galeon 640 Fly is a study in contemporary elegance. The high-gloss veneers, premium leathers, and LED lighting packages create an atmosphere of a five-star boutique hotel. The layout is optimized for charter groups, ensuring every guest enjoys privacy and comfort.

The Cabins

• Master Suite: Positioned mid-ship for maximum stability, the full-beam master stateroom features a private entrance, a king-sized bed, and an en-suite bathroom that feels more like a spa.
• VIP Cabin: Located forward, the VIP cabin offers a unique layout with plenty of natural light through the innovative hull glazing.
• Guest Stateroom: A versatile twin or double configuration, making it perfect for families.

Every cabin is climate-controlled and features state-of-the-art entertainment systems, ensuring that your time below deck is just as enjoyable as your time on the water. For those who prioritize interior volume, the Sunseeker Manhattan series offers a similar level of interior opulence worth comparing.

Performance: Power Meets Precision

A yacht this beautiful needs the performance to match. The Galeon 640 Fly is typically powered by dual Volvo Penta D13 engines, allowing for a comfortable cruise speed and a top speed that ensures you can move between island destinations with ease. The hull design is optimized for sea-keeping, providing a smooth ride even in choppy conditions.

For charterers, this means less time transit and more time enjoying the destination. Whether you are docking in a crowded marina or anchoring in a secluded cove, the optional bow and stern thrusters make maneuvering this vessel remarkably intuitive.
