Yacht Rental Miami With Captain Included
Every YATR charter comes with a professional, USCG-licensed captain -- no boating license required
Why a Captained Charter Is the Best Choice
When you rent a yacht in Miami with YATR, your captain is more than just a driver. They are your local guide, safety officer, and hospitality expert. Our captains have years of experience navigating Biscayne Bay, know the best sandbars and swimming spots, and handle all docking and anchoring so you never have to worry.
Captain-Included vs. Bareboat Rental
Unlike bareboat rentals where you need a boating license and assume all liability, YATR's captained charters let you focus entirely on enjoying your experience. Your captain handles fueling, anchoring, weather decisions, and navigating busy waterways like the Intracoastal.
Safety First
Miami's waters can be busy with commercial traffic, sandbars, and narrow channels. An experienced captain ensures your group stays safe while maximizing fun on the water.

Miami Yacht Charter FAQs
Everything you need to know about chartering a yacht in Miami
How much does a yacht charter in Miami cost?
Miami yacht charter prices vary based on vessel size and duration. Day cruisers (40-60ft) start from $5,000, motor yachts (60-90ft) from $12,000, and mega yachts (100ft+) from $25,000+. All YATR pricing includes captain, crew, fuel, taxes, and fees with no hidden costs.
What is included in a Miami yacht charter?
Every YATR yacht charter includes a professional captain and crew, fuel for standard Miami cruising areas, water toys (jet skis, paddleboards, snorkeling gear on most vessels), premium sound systems, and safety equipment. Catering, bar service, and additional amenities can be arranged for an extra fee.
Where can I go on a Miami yacht charter?
Popular Miami yacht charter destinations include Biscayne Bay, Key Biscayne, Star Island, Fisher Island, the Haulover Sandbar, Nixon Sandbar, Stiltsville, and cruising along the Miami Beach coastline. Longer charters can venture to the Florida Keys, Bimini, or the Bahamas.
How far in advance should I book a Miami yacht charter?
For the best selection, we recommend booking 2-4 weeks in advance for weekday charters and 4-6 weeks for weekend bookings. Peak season (December through April), holidays, and major Miami events like Art Basel or the Boat Show require 6-8 weeks advance booking. Last-minute availability is sometimes possible.
Do I need boating experience to charter a yacht in Miami?
No experience is required. All YATR yacht charters come with a professional licensed captain who handles navigation, anchoring, and ensures your safety. You simply relax and enjoy the experience while the crew takes care of everything.
What types of yachts are available for charter in Miami?
YATR offers a diverse fleet including sport yachts for day cruising, motor yachts for luxury experiences, sailing yachts for traditionalists, catamarans for stability and space, and mega yachts for large groups and special events. Sizes range from 40ft intimate vessels to 200ft+ superyachts.
Can I charter a yacht in Miami for a special event?
Absolutely! Miami yacht charters are perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, bachelor/bachelorette parties, corporate events, weddings, proposals, and milestone celebrations. We can arrange catering, decorations, DJs, photographers, and other special services.
What is the cancellation policy for Miami yacht charters?
Cancellation policies vary by vessel, but typically full refunds are available for cancellations made 14+ days before the charter date. Cancellations 7-14 days out may receive a 50% refund, and cancellations within 7 days are generally non-refundable. Weather-related cancellations are handled on a case-by-case basis.
How long is a typical Miami yacht charter?
Most Miami yacht charters are 4-8 hours for day trips. Popular options include half-day (4 hours), full-day (8 hours), and sunset cruises (3-4 hours). Extended multi-day charters to destinations like the Bahamas or Florida Keys are also available.
What should I bring on a Miami yacht charter?
We recommend bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, swimwear, a light jacket for the evening, and any personal medications. Towels, water, and basic refreshments are typically provided. For longer charters, you may want to bring a change of clothes and any specific snacks or beverages.
Are pets allowed on Miami yacht charters?
Pet policies vary by vessel. Many yacht owners welcome well-behaved dogs on board, while others prefer no pets. Please let us know if you plan to bring a pet when booking so we can match you with a pet-friendly yacht.
Are captains included with yacht rentals in Miami?
Yes, every YATR yacht rental in Miami comes with a professional, USCG-licensed captain included in the price. Our captains have extensive experience navigating Miami waters, know the best spots for swimming and anchoring, and handle all safety and navigation so you can relax and enjoy your time on the water. No boating license or experience is needed.
Can I rent a small yacht in Miami for a smaller group?
Absolutely! YATR offers a range of smaller yachts (40-55ft) perfect for intimate groups of 2-12 guests. Small yacht rentals in Miami start from around $3,000 for a half-day charter and are ideal for couples, small families, or friend groups who want a luxury experience without the large-vessel price tag. All small yachts include a captain, fuel, and amenities.
